SERVICES

Nisbet Lodge has an array of In House services and those provided by our community partners.

Medical (Back to Top)

Medical care is provided under the direction of our Medical Director. Medical rounds are done weekly and physician services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Medical Director also acts as the attending physician to many of the residents. Laboratory and other consultative services are available through our links with the Toronto East General Hospital and other local care providers.

Nursing (Back to Top)

Registered Nursing Staff and qualified personal support workers are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to attend to personal care requirements as regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Health.

Social Work/Family Services Coordinator (Back to Top)

The social work department facilitates placement to Nisbet Lodge and provides services to help with the adjustment of moving to Long Term Care for both the resident and families. Social work interventions include supportive counselling, advocacy, and issues identified by the multi-disciplinary team. Tours are arranged through our social work department.

Physiotherapy (Back to Top)

Our physiotherapist works with the residents to promote mobility and physical range of motion. They will also assist with completing applications for the Assistive Devices program

Foot Care/Chiropody (Back to Top)

Regular foot care is done by our own staff at no cost. Chiropody services are available to all residents on a regular basis at a reasonable price.

Dietary/Food Services (Back to Top)

Mealtimes are always a highlight in the day. It is a time for our residents to socialize and enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Family and guests are always welcome to share a meal with loved ones. Our dietary department serves home cooked, nutritional meals. All food is prepared and cooked in our kitchen under the direction of our Director of Food Services, by staffs who have earned their Food Handlers Certificate. Special diets are accommodated. Bedtime and between meal snacks are also available.

Hairdresser (Back to Top)

Our hairdressing salon is located on the 2nd floor and offers both barber and hairdressing services.

Housekeeping and Laundry (Back to Top)

We strive to provide clean, comfortable and safe surroundings for our residents. The laundry staff ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of the residents clothing and the Lodge's linen. All staff carries responsibility for the control of infectious diseases.

Maintenance (Back to Top)

The maintenance department is responsible for the efficient operation and ongoing maintenance of the physical building and the safety of residents, staff and visitors to the Lodge.

Fire and Safety (Back to Top)

Nisbet Lodge meets and exceeds all the standards of the Fire Code. All staff is trained in Fire Safety and must participate in the ongoing Fire, Safety In-service. A Fire drill is practiced once per month on all shifts and an evacuation drill once per year.
